6 Reasons Why a Vacation Home is Better Than a Hotel
When you travel abroad, one of the main decisions you need to make is where to stay. There are lots of options, but for many people, it comes down to either a hotel or a vacation home. Here are six reasons why you should opt for the latter.
1. You get more space
Hotel rooms are often quite small, with just a bedroom area and a bathroom. While this is fine for an overnight trip or a vacation in which you’re literally just using the room to sleep in, for longer stays, it can be inconvenient. With a vacation home, however, you get an entire apartment or house to yourself. This gives you the option to have comfortable nights in like you would at home, plus plenty of storage space for your belongings.
2. You can cook your own meals
Vacation homes come with all sorts of useful amenities – including a kitchen. That means you have the choice of cooking for yourself if you want to. This can be a great way to save money on longer trips, plus explore the cuisine in more depth by making dishes with local ingredients. In addition, you’ll also have other conveniences (like a washing machine to do your laundry) that will make your stay more comfortable.
3. You can be part of the local community
Staying at a hotel means that you’ll always be a tourist, whereas a vacation home can put you in the heart of the local community. This is especially true if you choose to buy a property from a company such as Turkey Homes rather than just rent one. You’ll be able to meet local people, get involved with the community, and explore attractions and sights that are off the beaten tourist track.
4. You have more privacy
Although hotel rooms are, of course, private, you’re still sharing a building with countless other people. The walls may well be thin, and you might find that you can hear everything the people in the next room are doing! Plus, you’ll have cleaning staff coming in to change the towels and tidy up. By contrast, having a vacation home ensures maximum privacy on your trip.
5. It’ll never be fully booked
You’ve almost certainly experienced the disappointment of finding a gorgeous hotel in your chosen destination, only to realize it’s fully booked on the dates of your trip. When you own your own vacation home, this is no longer an issue! Your property will be ready and waiting for you whenever you want it, even for last-minute trips or vacations in the peak travel season.
6. It’s ideal for group trips
If you have a large family or like to travel with friends, a hotel can be inconvenient. However, a vacation home will offer all the space you need while still giving people the option to disappear to their own room for some privacy. You’ll have a kitchen and living area where you can all hang out together and maybe even some outside space to use when the weather’s good. It doesn’t get much better than that!
