How to Build the Perfect Gaming Room on a Budget

If you want to have a great room where you can enjoy your favorite video games in tranquility, then you should know that you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to get one. You can get a great gaming room on the cheap if you make the right decisions. You’ll also need to use some tricks to create the appearance of luxury without the luxury price tag. Let’s take a look at how you can build a great gaming room on the cheap.

Get a Modest but Powerful Machine

You will need to be smart when picking your gaming PC as it will take up a large portion of your budget. The first thing you need to assess is whether you’re going to pick a desktop or a laptop. The desktop would be the most budget-friendly option, but it would be better to go for a laptop if you like to play outside your home often or if you need to do work outside from time to time.

We would suggest that you look at one of these Lenovo 1080p gaming laptops. They have some of the best machines out there for all budgets, so you should have no trouble finding something that works for you.

If you want to keep your cost as low as possible and still get a great machine, try to get something with a GeForce RTX 20 series card. It might not run the top games at the best specs, but it will be good enough for them to be enjoyable.

Install Great Lighting

Lighting is one of the most important things in a gaming room, so start looking for some decent LED strip lights or tiles. Tiles are great because you can start with a few and add more along the way. Make sure that you pick a set that is customizable with added features like remote-controlled brightness and colors.

Buy Used Office Furniture Instead of Gaming Furniture

Anything that is branded for gaming will be priced higher. That’s just the way it is. So, instead of buying gaming furniture, try to find office options instead.

Gaming chairs, for instance, can get very expensive and aren’t 100% necessary. So many of the gaming chairs you see out there are glorified office chairs, so you might get the same level of comfort or more by going for a good office chair instead. You should be able to find tons of used ones on sites like eBay or Craigslist and you might be surprised by the quality you could get. Just make sure it’s made from a breathable comfortable material like mesh and that it has enough lumbar support.

You could also get yourself a nice office desk and it will do the same thing as your average gaming desk. It might not have RGB lighting, but that is something that you can always have later on.

This is all that you need to start building an affordable gaming room for yourself. You’ll then be able to add more elements until it’s complete.
