6 Healthy Morning Routine Checklist
Just as breakfast is the most important meal of the day, a healthy and productive and morning can set the tone for the rest of the day. So start taking your morning routine seriously. Whether you are a morning person or absolutely not, staying on track throughout the morning and limiting distractions is a great way to start your day off productively. We’ve found 5 healthy morning routine checklist that is sure to inspire you to be the healthiest you!
1. Stay off the internet for the first hour
I know! We all get tempted to reach out for our mobile phones the second we wake up in the morning. Curious about the emails, and social media notifications you’ve missed while asleep? Don’t fret, there are still going to be there in 30 minutes. Instead, prioritize your healthy morning routine.
This is can be difficult, but it is doable. Discipline yourself, for instance, and agree not to look at your phone until you completed at least three tasks.
Remember the times when woke up, checked your phone, and read something unpleasant on the news or social media, it did affect your mood for the rest of the day, didn’t it?
2. Drink a big glass of water
This is a no-brainer, but most people still go straight for a coffee in the morning. Drinking water is the simplest thing you can do, and probably the healthiest. Your body is made up of 60% water, drinking water helps maintain the balance of body fluids.
The functions of these bodily fluids include absorption, circulation, digestion, transportation of nutrients, creation of saliva, and maintenance of body temperature.
Not only will drinking water help you rehydrate, but it was also found that drinking 500 ml of water can boost your metabolism by 30 percent.
3. Do a quick workout
Start your day off with an exercise! As little as 5 minutes of exercise shortly after you get up or a gentle 15 minutes jog on your treadmill can help you start your day stress-free and energized.
You don’t have to hit the gym for two hours in the morning to boost your energy. If you don’t like to exercise, try yoga! Yoga is also a great way to start your morning. It can aid in weight reduction, increase your flexibility, and muscle strength.
If you suffer from grogginess in the morning, this is a great way to feel alert very quickly. They are free to burst workout routines on YouTube you can try out. It is a great way to burn fat, and is even more effective than a 30-minute cardio session!
4. Eat an energizing breakfast
Always make sure you don’t skip breakfast! This will leave you groggy and tired throughout the day. Make sure you avoid quick fixes such as fruit juices, sugary cereal, and donut, heavily processed, or microwavable breakfast foods.
Instead eat a healthy breakfast made up of whole grains, protein, and fruit. Try making a green smoothie with avocado or hemp seeds, nut butter, and fresh fruits and veggies as a quick way to get nutrients into your body in the morning.
5. Take your supplements
Health is wealth! This should definitely be on your healthy morning routine checklist. It’s one routine I personally don’t skip. Supplements are a great way to give your body the vitamins it needs. Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant known for strengthening the immune system. Vitamins D and E boost immunity, too.
These vitamins can also help reduce allergy symptoms. For healthy skin and hair, opt for Vitamins A, C, E, and CoQ10. I’m a vitamin junkie myself, my daily multi-vitamins include evening prime Rose, omega fatty acid, silica complex for healthy skin and hair, and vitamin C.
6. Say Positive Affirmations
Take a few minutes in the morning to say some positive affirmations. Self-appreciation is very important and saying motivational mantras can be more helpful to you than you’d think.
Find different things you enjoy about yourself, things you want to achieve, and the things you are grateful for. Then, say them out loud while looking at yourself in the mirror.
Not only do positive affirmations keep you surrounded by the things you want in your life, but they also help bring about more blessings and gifts. It makes you more focused on your goal and keeps you in a constant state of gratitude. So why not start today?
But what is more daunting than starting a healthy morning routine? Sticking to it! Good things don’t come easily, so, be consistent. Plan your mornings the night before. If it helps, create a planner for your morning routine and stick it on the door of your refrigerator.
I geuss that now is the time to start making positive changes in our lives. Seeing that most of us is in lockdown, we have time to do all of these, but still, we don’t.
We have the time, but we just don’t make time. We don’t have an excuse.
I couldn’t agree more Charl! One of the most important lessons we should take from this pandemic is that health is wealth. What you put in your body, how you spend your day, and what you feed your mind will play a major role in your overall health. Glad you found the article useful.
This is a great checklist to follow. I practice a couple of these routines- however, I do need to get into the habit of drinking more water in the morning. I usually drink tea instead. I’ve always preferred to get my workout out of the way early, so I don’t have to think about doing it later. But lately, I’ve been lagging. After reading your article, I feel motivated to get back on a morning schedule. Thanks for sharing.
You’d be surprised how beneficial drinking water is to be the body. Consistency is key and our health should always be a priority. Glad you found the motivation to start a healthy morning routine.
I definitely agree not picking up your phone to scroll through social media is crucial. Your mindset changes when you’re not always consuming what other people are doing.
Exactly! you become a better version of yourself when you limit the time spent on social media (especially Instagram). Glad you enjoyed the read.
