How to Make Creamy Lemon Chicken
Step 1: Season the chicken
Pat the chicken breasts completely dry so they’ll develop that gorgeous golden crust.
Season both sides with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and plenty of freshly cracked black pepper.
Step 2: Sear until beautifully golden
Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until deeply golden and caramelized. Don’t worry if it’s not fully cooked through yet—it’ll finish gently in the sauce.
Transfer to a plate.
Step 3: Make the dreamy sauce
Lower the heat to medium and melt the butter.
Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up all those flavorful browned bits from the bottom of the skillet—that’s where the magic lives.
Whisk in the heavy cream, Parmesan, lemon juice, lemon zest, and Dijon mustard.
Let everything simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce becomes smooth, creamy, and luxurious.
Step 4: Bring it all together
Return the chicken to the skillet.
Arrange fresh lemon slices over the chicken and let everything simmer together for another 5–7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Spoon that gorgeous lemon garlic sauce over the chicken several times as it finishes cooking.
Step 5: Finish and serve
Scatter chopped parsley over the top and serve immediately with plenty of extra sauce.
Trust me—you’ll want every last spoonful.
