This dish is perfect for when you’re craving something a bit fancy but still comforting.

Serve it with a fresh salad or some garlic bread, and you’ve got a dinner that feels like a celebration— no special occasion required.

Ingredients

● 300g pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or your favourite shape)

● 2 tbsp olive oil

● 2 tbsp butter

● 3 cloves garlic, minced

● 1 small onion, finely chopped

● 1 red bell pepper, diced

● 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (more if you like it bold)

● 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

● 200ml double cream

● 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

● 200g lump crab meat (fresh, tinned, or imitation works fine)

● Juice of 1/2 lemon

● Salt and pepper to taste

● Fresh parsley for garnish

Method

1. Cook the Pasta:

Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. (Don’t forget to reserve a cup of that pasta water—it’s liquid gold for sauces.) Drain and set aside.

2. Sauté the Veggies:

Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat. Toss in the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

3. Add the Seasoning:

Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika. Stir everything together for a minute until it smells incredible. (This is where the magic begins.)

4. Make It Creamy:

Lower the heat and pour in the double cream. Stir well and let it simmer gently for a couple of minutes. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until it melts into the sauce.

5. Crab Time:

Gently fold in the crab meat, being careful not to break it up too much. Squeeze in the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Combine with Pasta:

Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. If the sauce feels too thick, splash in a bit of that reserved pasta water until it’s silky and perfect.

7. Serve It Up:

Dish the pasta into bowls and sprinkle with fresh parsley. If you’re feeling fancy, add an extra sprinkle of Parmesan or a dusting of Cajun seasoning.
