I’m one of those people who fully leans into fall. I mean, it’s just so exciting to decorate for this time of the year.

As soon as September swings by, I’m bringing out all the cozy things I have stored up in the attic (and buying a few more)

Items like pumpkin candles, a cozy plaid blanket, string lights, and others can make any space look cozy and inviting.

I saw these cute fall leaf candles somewhere online and thought, “Wait… I can totally make that.”

Fall leaves plus candles—it can’t be that hard (well, it wasn’t!)

And guess what? You can totally do it too. They’re seriously so easy and can pretty up any table.

All you need are a few basic things, and you’re good to go.

No fancy tools, no crafting expertise. Just a little patience, a few fall leaves (doesn’t even have to be the real thing), and a candle or two.

You can use real or fake leaves (whatever you have lying around). I used some dollar store ones, and they worked perfectly.

This is a fun and therapeutic little project to do leisurely while watching a cozy movie or if you’re feeling crafty.

What You’ll Need:

● Pillar candles (white or cream work so the leaves can stand out)

● Fall leaves (real or faux; either will do the job)

● Wax paper or parchment paper

● An iron (a small portable one is super handy, but a regular one works fine too)

How to Make Them:

Step 1:
Start by choosing the leaves you want to use. Note: if you’re using real ones, press them in a book and let them stay in for a day or two so they’re nice and flat.

If you’re using artificial ones, just make sure they’re not too thick or stiff so they can stay smooth.

Step 2:

Now, place the leaf into the candle. If mixing various patterns, determine the location you want to place them.

You don’t need glue or anything; just the wax will keep it in place with a bit of heat.

Step 3:
Cut some parchment paper and wrap it around the candle, covering the leaf. Hold it tight so everything stays in place.

Step 4:
Take your iron (on a low setting, no steam) and gently press it against the wax paper. Be careful not to burn your hands.

Move the iron around it slowly in circles for a few seconds. You’ll see the wax from the candle start to melt a little. That wax is what’s going to seal the leaf.

Avoid pressing too much on one star if the wax will melt really fast (take it nice and slow).

Step 5:
Now you can carefully peel the wax paper off. The leaf should now stick to the candle. It’s seriously so satisfying.

Step 6:
Repeat the same steps around the candle if you want more leaves or mix different colors. I like mixing reds, olive greens, oranges, and a little yellow for that full fall vibe.

Useful Tips:

● If you’re using real candles with real flames, keep the leaves low or only use them on decorative candles. Safety first.

● LED candles work great for this and still give you that cozy glow, but you will need glue to stick the leaves on.

● These make super cute gifts or Thanksgiving centerpieces. Just saying.

And that’s it! Told you it was super easy. Now go light your candle, grab a blanket, and enjoy those fall vibes.
